Keeneland and sunset {Lexington family photography}

I am loving these images from an evening session at Keeneland.  Such warm yummy light; these barely needed an edit.  It could be because these two are just cute and sweet and wonderful to photograph...  THANKS for a great session.

COLD weekend photography!

Lots of great sessions this weekend!  But I'll have to say IT WAS COLD!  About 35 and super biting wind during the Saturday sessions.  My fingers were freezing!  All my clients this weekend were awesome though.  I enjoyed meeting you all.  I hope you enjoy your preview images.  I'll be working on your galleries when I return from Colorado.

Sunshine and warmth...{Frankfort family photographer}

Wished I'd known that last weekend was the last weekend of sunshine and warmth for a while!  I would have savored it a little bit more.  This weekend is COLD!  Luckily it was beautiful last weekend for this family session with the Bevington family.  Thanks for taking a wonderful --if a little bit wet-- walk with me on a Sunday morning.

A growing family... {Frankfort maternity photography}

This beautiful mom is my teaching partner in Kindergarten this year.  She is, like me, new to K and we are figuring out this whole thing together...  I love love love her sweet little family and am so excited to see them growing.  Her little man is my new preK bff of the year.  LOVE that kiddo!  His sweet, exuberant smile warms my heart.

A walk in the woods... {Frankfort family photography}

This sweet momma works at our public library and was so wonderfully supportive of my children when they participated in her library programs when they were small.  It was wonderful to be able to photograph her family again this year.  We shot these images one year and one day after I took Henry's newborn photos last year.  Very cool.

Sunshine!!!! {Frankfort family photography}

I'm usually not a morning person, but I am so glad I got up for this one Sunday morning!  It was wet tramping through the grass but this family was super and the location just behind their home was so pretty.  Warm light filtering through the big maples and a big rolling lawn...perfect.

We'll see how this B&W image uploads!  It is truly BLACK and white, I swear!  I don't usually do sepia but that's how it seems in my blog preview.  The mysteries of computer technology...

Thanks Bevington family!

This is why I take photos... {Midway KY family photography}

OK, so I am not a great blogger.  I read other people's blogs all the time and am inspired and amazed at their humor, insights and eloquence.  That is so not me!  I forget to blog.  I get writer's block when blogging.  But, I am determined to be a better blogger.  And this family, this photo session seems a great place to begin.

Why?  Because this  session is the reason I love family photography.  It may not be everyone's "cup of tea."  The images aren't of the "look at the camera and smile" variety.  [which is a good thing because we all would have been nuts trying that with four children under 6!]  These images are REAL.  They are family.  And most of all they are all about love.  God has blessed this family with an abundance of love...and a good bit of cuteness thrown in as a bonus.  I hope you can feel it in these sun drenched images.

So thank you to the Robinson family!  Many blessings to you.

{Oh and this was supposed to be a gift certificate mini session but I got carried away with the cuteness and love.  You will have LOTS of images in your full gallery!}

I cropped in on this bit of this sweet photo.  You can feel the joy in his little expression.

Toddlers and their mommas (and dad's!)

Whew!  A busy month...but mostly busy at the day job.  Another year (my last for a while) in preschool has wrapped up and I am embarking on a new adventure in KINDERGARTEN!!!  I am excited about this new journey and thrilled that some of my little friends from last year will be on it with me.  With 20+ kids going from kindergarten to preschool, some of them are bound to be with me again...the joy!

This weekend in the world of photography it is expectant momma's with their little ones and hubby.  Toddler girls!  What can you say?   Sweet, soft and beautiful...but with a plan of their own!  lol.  Makes me nostalgic for the days when Chloe was little.

I've known this first momma since she was in elementary school.  Her mom is one of the first people I met in F. County schools.  Wonderful to see her grown up and beautiful and with a little one of her own.
She was all about being daddy's girl on this day!

Why does this remind me of Hollie Hobby?

Go!

(Note:  The photo on the right is not sepia...the blog is messing with me today!)  Love this little in between minute of her being independent and putting on her shoes HERSELF (she was quite clear on this point).
Have a great vacation S family!  I will have your photos for you when you return.

Loving baby Easton.

(Note: Again, not a sepia photo...just blogger weirdness!)

Could she be any cuter?  So tiny and perfect.  And such beautiful hair.  My kids looked like egg-heads at this age...no hair at all.  Good luck next week!  I can't wait to meet baby Easton!!!

PROM - Western Hills High School

Such a fun pre-prom session tonight.  What a delight to work with such lovely young people.  I've known both of these clients since they were in elementary school.  They have grown into amazing young people.

World Autism Awareness Day

This year I took a huge leap of faith and hosted a photography event for World Autism Awareness Day on April 2.  Working with these special kids and their families over the years has shown me the challenges that families face in everyday life.  With things as simple as getting photos taken. So, with the help of three talented Frankfort ladies, Sara Nesselrode, Hillary Dobner and Joa Brance, we created photos for 25 families.  Thanks to everyone who participated!  The event was joyful and such a blessing!  The photos above are some of the best and some of the outtakes from my own sessions.  I hope to see these families again in the future!

I loved meeting sweet Mr. Maddox and his family when they participated in our World Autism Awareness Day photography event.  They happen to be related to one of my online photographer friends who lives a 1000 miles away...small world!  This little guys big brown eyes will melt your heart!

A Family Story: the Thompsons {Harrodsburg family photography}

What a joy to capture the story of this sweet young family.  A huge thank you to the Thompson family for welcoming me into their home to capture life with young children.  [and for being practice subjects for indoor sessions!]  I hope you enjoy looking at your photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.  You can view your full gallery here:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/candidphotosbyannie/sets/72157642403850433/

Beauty is in the details: Harrodsburg Lifestyle Photography

I started doing in-home sessions in January this year.  I've only done about a half dozen so far, but I can truly say I AM IN LOVE!  With family.  With real moments.  With capturing a mother's love with the click of the shutter.  The families I have worked with so far for these "Day in the Life" sessions have been a joy!  Maybe I'm overly sentimental in my old age, but watching families interact with one another is a touching thing.  I am honored to be invited into your homes and lives.

Today's sweet family from Harrodsburg lives on a beautiful (albeit muddy) farm property that is soooo gorgeous!  Little Miss E is a petite delight and chunky Baby C was too cute for words.  Thank you for sharing your morning with me.
I wanted to show you the black and white of this same photo, which I am totally in  love with.  But blogger is turning my B&W images yucky mucky brown.  I'll send it to you on Facebook instead.
